 OUR PEOPLE

We have a strong, experienced team led by Katy MacMillan.

She is a highly experienced social researcher having worked in this field for 18 years. Katy is supported by Ann Elliott, our research manager and a team of highly skilled, experienced associates. We are members of the Social Research Association and are members of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.

Qualifications: MA Honours (First Class) Geography and Management Studies, MPhil Urban Policy and Practice, University of Glasgow

Katy leads the team and is a highly experienced and respected researcher. She has worked in social research since 2001 and was a director of ODS Consulting before setting up Research Scotland in 2015.

Ann Elliott
Research Manager

Ann is our Research Manager and has worked in research for more than 20 years. She has a strong eye for detail and brings expertise in data management and organisation. Ann leads our data management work for all consultation analysis activity we undertake for the Scottish Government, involving a systematic and accountable approach to organising, coding and analysing data.

Andrew is an acknowledged expert on community regeneration, joint working and social inclusion in Scotland. He has also led our work in the fields of equalities, the third sector and community safety.

Christina has worked with us over the past eight years and brings strong skills in running focus groups, individual interviews, qualitative analysis and report writing.

Tara is a highly skilled researcher with strong skills and experience of leading major research projects, including evaluations and developing learning materials and training programmes.

Qualifications: BA Hons Social Policy, Diploma in Social Work, MA Social Research Methods with Distinction, PhD Social Work and Community Education

 Victoria is a highly experienced qualitative researcher, bringing academic experience as well as practical skills from her social work and community education background.

Eric is an adept researcher and evaluator with specialist knowledge of the cultural sector and over 20 years of experience working in theatre, museums, and the visual arts.
