OUR SERVICES

Support and Development

Practical, flexible, approaches

We often support clients to explore the impact of their work and to help them strengthen their evaluation processes. We bring expertise in outcomes focused planning and evaluation, logic modelling and theories of change. We regularly develop monitoring and evaluation reporting templates, and work with staff to build self-evaluation skills and capacity.

Robertson Trust: Changing Lives

Learning and Evaluation Partner: Changing Lives through Sport and Physical Activity Fund

We are currently supporting sportscotland, Scottish Government, The Robertson Trust and Spirit of 2012 with a programme of support around monitoring, evaluation and learning for the Changing Lives Fund. This involves developing a monitoring and evaluation report for the funded projects; providing individual support for 17 funded partnerships around evaluation; facilitating four learning events over two years; and producing Fund level evaluation reports. The work runs from 2019 to 2021.

sportscotland: Women and Girls Fund

Support and Building Evaluation Capacity

We are evaluating the Women and Girls Fund for sportscotland. The learning from this work will help sportscotland to understand the outcomes the programme has achieved, and what factors encourage women and girls to engage in physical activity. It involves discussion groups with people taking part in activities across the 15 funded projects. We will develop case studies which will highlight good and innovative practice and we will hold learning workshops for organisations.

Creative Scotland: Evaluation of the YMI

Youth Music Initiative Evaluation and support

Our team evaluated the Youth Music Initiative which supports music in schools through £10 million funding each year.  In 2014/15 we undertook a retrospective evaluation looking back over ten years of the YMI. For the next three years, we supported those delivering YMI activity to better monitor and report on the difference they make.  This involved a series of learning events, one to one support and written guidance on evaluation and how to gather evidence about outcomes and impact. The published reports and research paper are available online.
